Mr. Vijayant Kumar Verma is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of diverse experience in the financial sector, primarily with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). He currently serves as General Manager and Vertical Head at SEBI\u2019s Head Office in Mumbai, where he oversees the Office of Investor Assistance and Education. In this capacity, he spearheads initiatives aimed at increasing investor awareness and education across India, working closely with key market infrastructure institutions such as NSE, BSE, and AMFI. His responsibilities also include analyzing complaints against market intermediaries, developing content for SEBI\u2019s investor website and mobile app, and enhancing the outreach of investor service centers nationwide.<\/p>\n

Before assuming his current role, Mr. Verma headed the supervision, enforcement, and complaints vertical in SEBI\u2019s Investment Management Department. He supervised inspections of Asset Management Companies, Portfolio Management Service entities, and Registrar and Transfer Agents, leading to enforcement actions and policy recommendations aimed at strengthening the industry. His efforts also contributed to the automation of supervisory processes, further enhancing SEBI\u2019s regulatory capabilities.
\nThroughout his career, Mr. Verma has also served as a full-time Adjudicating Officer at SEBI, where he passed over 600 quasi-judicial orders against various market participants for violations of securities laws. He has represented SEBI at international forums like the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), playing a key role in shaping global standards for securities regulation.<\/p>\n
